My mom came down from West Virginia to spend April 20th, since she couldn't be here for my birthday on the 29th. Unfortunately she woke up with a cold, but we still had a good day! We spent the morning at Old Time Pottery and At Home. She picked up some new tropical leafy themed cushions for her outdoor furniture, and I found a cute rug I love for the front door—sorry, animal lover or not, the old mat left by the previous homeowners that said "Wipe Your Paws" had to go, some lovely iridescent wine glasses, finally a plush new cushion for the papasan chair, that George and Maeby have claimed, and a few other items. She also bought granddog Jake a kitchen bed so he'd lay out of the way, buuut it only works about half of the time. Oh, and of course I had to get the fluffy lemur toy I came across, since sometimes George's intense look reminds us of that beady eyed stare lemurs have lol She helped me with the daunting task of putting the kitchen away, which helped make the house more like home, and liveable. Once that was complete, and Nick was finished working outside, we headed out to spend a little time at the beach before dark. It was a chilly day, especially near the water, but that's fine with me, and was just fine with all of the surfers. And one person who must be a fan of the polar bear plunge who was out in a swimsuit... It was spring break, but not thanks! We decided on Bohemian Bull for dinner, and everything we ordered was fantastic! If you've never tried it, Ace Pineapple Hard Cider is delicious, and even better if you can find it on draft! Nick also had a handcrafted spicy margarita that was yum! And of course the dogs enjoyed tagging along as usual. There were games to play, and other dogs around, which are always a plus! We documented the beach with a few phone pics, and I also took a few with my camera. Dogs + Beach = WIN!
