I totally left the r out of GeorgeaveRsary last year, and didn't notice until just now! Oh well, changing it'll mess up all of my links, which at this point isn't worth fixing. ANYWAY...Today has been 2 years since we welcomed George into our lives, and what a fabulous two years of joy he has brought! He is still a wild man when he wants to be, much to my dismay. He's also hilarious, and beyond sweet—I mean he didn't intentionally try to blind me! (that's another story). This last year of playing with dogs twice his size has made him quite the "athuhlete" (do you know what movie that's from? lol) and now being bouncy is his thing! It's adorable when it's for treats or toys, not so much when he's trying for a squirrel snack. Did he learn nothing from the squirrel nip to the ear? We start every day with a snuggle sesh, but then he bounces at the bedroom door, the back door, and the garage door! Boing! Boing! Boing! Earlier today he jumped up and snatched a treat right out of my hand while I was talking to him, higher than he's bounced for a treat before. Probably a bad habit by doggy manners standards, but I think it's the cutest! He'd be an amazing dock diver, but I don't think he'd ever do it. He is only as trainable as he wants to be, which likely comes from our speculation that he is at least part Whippet, with most of their characteristics, including "An independent 'what's in it for me?' attitude toward training", and needing his hoodie when it drops below 70° lol How was he ever an outdoor WV dog?! And part Basenji, with his curly tail and undercoat. We'll do a DNA test eventually!
I had it in my head I wanted to do a fun celebration photo with him, but with everything else, I'd actually completely forgotten until today. To be honest I wanted to do photos with all of us for our 1 year houseaversary too, and also forgot. Maybe I should still be using my planner, even though all events are within the house?! lol
Same as last year, here are my favorites from the last 12 months, many have been featured in other blogs, some this is the first time sharing.
My favorite little dude - George :)
